Phil has made regular television and radio appearances as a spokesperson for the farming industry since the BSE crisis of 1996. He has appeared on Midlands Today on a number of occasions, most recently in April this year. Other appearances include Midlands at Westminster, Farming Today, a breakfast show on Radio 5, and local radio.

He has appeared as a Liberal Democrat panellist on two televised debates.

As the pro-European voice, Phil has also been pitched against arch Eurosceptic Bill Cash MP, both in a public meeting and on live radio.
